Dr Rajeev C. Godbole

Cardiothoracic Surgeon

M.B.,B.S (Bom), M.S.(Bom), M.Ch (CVTS), F.R.C.S (Edn), F.R.C.S(C/Th) Edn. Dr.Rajeev Godbole has been in cardio thoracic surgery for the last 30 years and has a wide experience in its various sub specialties. Dr. Godbole qualified from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of hospitals and was a faculty in JJ for 3 years. He left for U.K. after that and spent the next 11 years working in London and passed the FRCSEd and FRCSEd (cTh) which is the highest qualifying exam in Europe. He has worked as a cardiac surgeon at St.Mary’s Hospital London where BEATING HEART is practised almost on all patients needing bypass. Dr Godbole was at Bart’s Hospital for 4 years and has done over 1000 open heart operations, which have included paediatric cardiac operation and also lung surgery. Minimally invasive Bypass procedure & Non Surgical Aortic Valve replacement (TAVI) procedure.

Three Generations of Saving Lives

Dr. Godbole’s Heart Care Hospital is one of the oldest private hospitals in Thane district. It is a landmark in Thane, & for the Godboles, saving lives runs in the family from Dr. C. G. Godbole, to his son Dr. Rajeev C. Godbole and his grandson Dr. Yash R. Godbole. Dr. Rajeev C. Godbole, along with his colleagues has made this hospital in to a boutique cardiac hospital. The Pioneer

85 year old Dr. Chintaman G. Godbole does not believe in ‘retirement’. He graduated from the first MBBS batch of Nagpur Medical College and grew up in a humble family in the interiors of Maharashtra.

The youngest member following the family tradition,
Dr. Yash Rajeev Godbole, Surgeon in the making, is more candid. He says, “It started out as a childhood dream for me. I’d get up every morning and see my father get ready for work, the hours were odd and the job extremely difficult. But yet he’d carry on, saving lives without a single complaint. It was that time I really began to understand my father. I’ve always wanted to be like him.” Most children grow up listening to nursery rhymes, I grew up listening to case reports and medical prescriptions. That’s how I’ve lived with this profession.
